Each workshop dives into the fascinating story behind a beautifully crafted object from the Museum’s collection.
Discover how these treasures help tell the tale of Richmond’s past, then use them as inspiration for your very own craft project!
Workshops are held at the Museum, between 1pm to 3:30pm on the following dates in 2025:

Beading inspired by a pair of Edwardian Wedding Shoes

Fabric Block Printing inspired by a Printed Tea Towel
Wednesday 19 and Saturday 22 March:
Crochet Flowers inspired by a Vintage Leaflet

Basket Making inspired by Dolls House Miniatures
Wednesday 14 and Saturday 17 May:
Lace Knitting inspired by a Lambrequin (a short piece of decorative drapery)

Patchwork inspired by a World War Two Dress

Blackwork embroidery, inspired by mourning wear and ghost stories from Richmond Palace!

Embroidered cards, inspired by postcards sent in World War One

Decoupage Christmas Cards, inspired by an embroidered copy of the Radio Times!
